The United Nations Association of Ghana (UNA-GH) is a membership organization dedicated to inform, inspire, and mobilize the people of Ghana to support the mission and vision the United Nations. UNA-GH works to achieve its objectives through a network of Chapters, youth and women engagement, advocacy and education initiatives; among others.

Yes! UNA-GH is a registered member and the only body recognized by the World Federation of United Nations (WFUNA) to champion the ideals of the United Nations in Ghana.

To begin the process of starting a chapter, you must first register to become a member of UNA-GH. You must contact us via phone or send a mail to office@unagh.org to discuss how you can start a new chapter.

The benefits include:

1. You will have the platform to amplify your voice to support Ghana’s engagement at the UN, in making various programs by the world body a success including the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
2. You have opportunity to network with all UNA-GH chapters and partners throughout the country who have the passion to promote the mission of the United Nations.
3. You have the rare opportunity to take part in educational and advocacy events, as well as meeting high profile government officials and other world leaders who are passionate about the UN. This will broaden your understanding of the UN system and how to contribute to making the world better and safer place for people everywhere.  You may have the chance to attend key annual events including the Members Day at the UN and Annual Leadership Summit. 
4. Invitation to attend nationwide conference on issues such as Global Health, Empowering Women and Girls, and Sustainable Development among others with UN Experts.
5. You will be given UNA-GHANA Membership certificate and Membership Identity card.

You MUST register through the official online registration on our website and pay your membership fee. Your membership is invalid if you did not register through our online registration portal. You must pay for your membership fee through our online and offline payment platforms. Never ever pay your fees to any individual or to any account except what have been advertised on our official website.

UNA-GH membership is open to individuals who are fully committed to promoting and advocating to the political leadership of Ghana and the general populace about the importance Ghana’s involvement in the United Nations.

UNA-GH membership comes in the following levels and fees: Note that membership fees are subject to review: 

Regular Membership:

This is an annual fee paid by regular members to support the effective running of the Association (UNA-GH)

Executive Membership: 

This is an annual fee for National, Regional & District executive members to support the effective running of the Association (UNA-GH). Executive Membership is opened to only Ghanaian Citizens who have been duly appointed or elected for executive positions in UNAGH.. 

Fees:

National Executive:  GHC 500.00

Regional Executive: GHC 400.00

District Executive:   GHC 300.00

•  Right to vote and to stand for election for executive positions

Sponsor Membership:

This is an annual donation paid to provide additional support for UNA-GH education, advocacy and outreach programs.

 Benefits:

• Letter of Introduction (Upon a written request)

• Honorary Citation
• Publication of the Honorary Citation accompanied by your portrait picture on the official website of UNAGH

Partner Membership:

This is specific to corporate organizations /institutions that want to partner and support UNA-GH. They need to renew membership every two years. This donation level is used to provide additional support for UNA-GH outreach programs. Benefits:

• Invitation to UNA-GH/UN Events/Conferences 
• Certificate of Honor
• Publication of your organization/institution’s profile and logo on the official website of UNAGH

Patron Membership:

This donation is paid every four years to provide additional support for UNA-GH education, advocacy and outreach programs. Membership must be renewed every four years.

Goodwill Ambassador:

This donation level is used to provide additional support for UNA-GH education, advocacy and outreach programs. Membership must be renewed every three years.

• Certificate of Honor
• Publication of the Honorary Citation accompanied by your portrait picture on the official website of UNAGH

 Life-Time Membership:

This is a one-time membership fee. This higher donation level is used to provide additional support for UNA-GH education, advocacy and outreach programs.

You can pay for UNA-GH Membership though our online and offline platforms. You can also deposit into our bank account with Agricultural Development Bank (ABD). Contact us for the bank details.

Your membership expires the next year at the end of the month in which you registered/obtained membership (e.g. Membership starting on April 10, 2019 will expire on March 10, 2020).

Yes! If wish not to affiliate with any chapter you can select “National Member” when you are completing your registration form. This does not invalidate your membership; you will still be accorded all the rights and benefits.

Yes! Your organization must register for Partnership Membership level to support UNA-GH nationally and locally.

Our payment platforms are designed with high security to prevent fraud. Reasons your inability to complete the payment process may highlighted in red to rectify when using our online payment platform. I did not get a confirmation after submitting my registration online, what should I do?

If you registered online, you should see a confirmation on your screen that says, “Registration Successful”. If you did not get this notification send a mail to membership@unagh.org for assistance or call/WhatsApp +233206007255.

You should receive an e-mail receipt to confirm payment if you used the online payment platform and if you use the USSD payment platform, you will receive SMS receipt.  If you paid through the bank, contact us to confirm receipt. Note: You MUST always pay your membership fee in full when you are paying through any of our payment platforms. If for any genuine reasons you want to pay in instalment please contact membership@unagh.org or call/WhatsApp +233206007255 to discuss that. 

Payment be paid in full. It takes within 30 days to change your membership account status to “Active Member” after you have paid your membership fee. If after 30 days your account status remains “Inactive Member”, please send a mail to membership@unagh.org for assistance or call/WhatsApp +233206007255. 

Avoid clicking on the submission button multiple times as this can result to multiple submissions. There will be a hold charge on your account if your transaction fails. This charge should disappear within 4-15 days. Contact membership@unagh.org if your hold charges do not disappear. We cannot refund hold charges because that have been rejected by our payment system. Please we can only refund charges received by UNA-GH.

It may be that you registered twice using different email addresses or contact numbers. If this bothers you, please email membership@unagh.org to rectify the problem.

Please expect your membership card within 6-12 weeks from the time you registered or renewed your membership.

You can find your membership ID when you login to your membership account after you have filled all the additional information required to complete your membership registration.

You can update your membership information when you login to your membership account; click on “My Account” to edit/update your information. Note that the update information will reflect on your ID when you renew your membership. 

Please report to us immediately when you misplace your Membership ID and request for a replacement at a fee. Please contact membership@unagh.org .

This Code of Ethics is established by UNF is adopted by UNA-GH for members as guidelines for their professional conduct, personal ethics, standards of business and must practice trustworthiness and integrity in their responsibilities and fulfilling all applicable laws and regulations. Adherence to these principles is required for maintaining ones’ membership with UNA-GH.
